MUDSLIDES IN EASTERN COLORADO HAVE CLOSED I-70 BOTH WAYS. THIS HAS RESULTED IN TRUCKERS HAVING TO DETOUR ALONG ROADS THAT ARE NOT USUALLY TRUCK FILLED. IT HAS ADDED 3-5 HOURS EACH WAY RESULTING IN A ONE DAY TRIP TURNING INTO A 2 DAY TRIP. BECAUSE OF THIS THERE HAS BEEN SHORTAGES OF FOOD AND FUEL IN COLORADO AND SOME TO THE WEST. THE PROJECT TO REPAIR THIS AREA AND PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING HAD BEEN DISCUSSED BUT PUT OFF DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS. AS THE SITUATION OF OUR INFRASTRUCTURE SITS IN THE HANDS OF UNCARING POLITICIANS, OUR COUNTRY STRUGGLES. FIXING ROADWAYS, BRIDGES, WATERWAYS AND RAILWAYS IS NOT A POLITICAL ISSUE. WE ARE BEING PENNY WISE AND POUND FOOLISH WITH OUR INABILITY TO ENACT LEGISLATION.
MANY ARE LIKE THIS GUY, THEY CAN ONLY SEE THE PAST, AND LONG FOR YESTERDAY.
OTHERS CAN ONLY SEE WHAT IS IN FRONT OF THEM, BLINDED FROM WHERE HE CAME.
ONLY WHEN WE EMBRACE OUR PAST, EVEN THE BAD PARTS AND LEARN FROM THEM, AND LOOK FORWARD TO WHAT THE NEXT SEVERAL GENERATIONS WILL NEED CAN OUR COUNTRY SURVIVE AND THRIVE.
I'M JUST SAYING
When it comes to infrastructure and technology. United States is a third world country.
